My Internship

Coming into JP Morgan Chase for the first time I didn't know what to expect. I had never worked for a large corporation like it and it was very intimidating when I first started my job site. Basically, I was shadowing the Sales and Service Associates which were customer service representatives of the branch. I would answer phones, fax paperwork, file paperwork, answer e-mails, run deposits and withdrawals through the tellers and anything else that anyone needed done. One great experience that I had was that JP Morgan is a very professional atmosphere to work in even for a bank. All shirts and colors are matching in the uniforms and its has that corporate world feel to it which was nice to finally be around because I hadn't before. It made me feel like what I was doing everyday was important. Dealing with people's finances and money of course helped to because that tends to be very very important to people anyways.

Also, I gained the knowledge of how to navigate a corporate computer system which was a breath of fresh air because everything that you could ever need as an employee or customer is right in front of you. Also, I learned how to communicate in the correct manner to customers. You don't realize it until you actually work for a company like Chase but they are actually paying your wages. A lot of people just assume oh its a big company so they have a lot of money but thats just not necessarily true. Companies like Chase can struggle to and its our customers that make it happen for us so they needed to be treated accordingly. Lastly, I have learn all about the corporate ladders and the chain of command. Everyone seems to have a boss and things need to be done correctly so everyone's happy as far as policies and procedures go. I have learned "sometimes you have to go along to get along."
